Edmonton FIR Controllers, Visiting Controllers, And Staff Members
As per FIR Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), controllers who have not logged any controller hours within 60 days will be placed on the inactive roster and are not allowed to control. Controllers on the inactive roster for 60 days further will automatically be removed from the FIR. Inactive controllers must contact the FIR Chief to be returned to active duty.

Welcome to The Virtual Edmonton Flight Information Region (FIR), we are the largest FIR in Canada. Edmonton is home to the 3rd and 5th busiest airports in Canada, Calgary (CYYC) and Edmonton (CYEG).
Our airspace spans from the North Pole to the US Border and from Alaska to Baffin Island, creating one of the most complex and busiest airspaces in the world. Besides traffic to/from Calgary and Edmonton, there are lots of overflight traffic from Vancouver, Anchorage, Seattle, and Winnipeg, the US West coast to Europe and from the US East coast to Asia and Alaska. The result lots of traffic flowing in any number of directions.
